Short-acting: Hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Vicodin); hydrocodone and aspirin; hydrocodone and ibuprofen
Dosing: 5-10 mg q 4 h
With all combination agents, doses limited by maximal daily dose of the non-opioid component (4 g/d of acetaminophen or aspirin)
With regular daily dosing, strongly consider Senna laxative for constipation (not bulk products). Generally, constipation is a chronic effect of opioids
