COMMON CONDITIONS - Fibromyalgia Syndrome - FMS Diagnosis
Diagnosis of FMS is based on clinical criteria: laboratory studies are normal.
History of pain in all four body quadrants for at least 3 months.
At least 11 of 18 paired, bilateral tender (trigger) points elicited on physical exam: suboccipital muscles insertion, low cervical, trapezius, supraspinatus, second rib, lateral epicondyle, gluteal, greater trochanter, and knee.
